Academic background
Adam Liacopoulos graduated from Athens American College and attended for his G.C.E. studies Atlantic College, Glamorgan, South Wales, U.K. under a State scholarship. In 1973 he received his B.A.(Honours) in Economics from the University of Athens, Greece and in 1974 his M.A. in Economics from the University of Leeds, U.K. During1975-76 he did research work at the University of Manchester, U.K.
Professional career
In 1977 he was employed by a major construction and public
works Group where he held a key financial position, initially as cash flow manager and later as portfolio manager. During the
second half of 1980 he participated in the founding of the Group's
Swiss subsidiary and was relocated in Geneva..
In 1981 he joined Banque Francaise de Credit International, Oiraeus as chief dealer..
During 1983-89 he worked for a major oil/shipping refining and
trading Group as a senior financial executive. He planned and restructured the Group's Treasury Department and was responsible for the management and hedging of loans and assets in the foreign exchange and money markets. He had the opportunity to apply econometric models and develop kis own original charting techniques keeping daily , weekly and monthly data of the major currencies (including both cash and futures markets), gold, crude oil and stock indices.
Since 1989 he has been working as a private portfolio and investment consultant. In the early part of this period he concentrated all his research experience and data towards the development of the ^The Trendways model^
Seminars and conferences
He attended the International Conference of Finance, in Monaco
in April,1979, concluded Citibank's Treasury Program in April
and May 1979 and also Bank of America;s Options Workshop in London in February 1985.
